The Heath Robinson Museum wants to be as welcoming as possible to people with disabilities and particular access needs. We hope that the information below will be useful, but please contact us on welcome@heathrobinsonmuseum.org or 020 8866 8420 if you would like to talk about anything.
The Museum is less than 10 minutes’ walk from four bus stops: H11, H12, H13 and 183 on Bridge Street and from Pinner Underground station (Metropolitan Line; lifts in station serving both platforms). If arriving by car, the satnav postcode is HA5 1AE.
There is a Blue Badge parking space in the car park outside the Museum, accessed from West End Lane. You can stop by the Museum entrance to drop people off.
Our friendly staff and volunteers are trained in customer service and health and safety. They want to help, so please ask. If you have particular needs in the event of an emergency evacuation, please tell people at the ticket desk when you arrive.
People with a disability have a concessionary admission price and carers go free.
The Museum is on the ground floor and has automatic doors. If you need to access the first-floor archive, there is a lift.
The accessible toilet is near the entrance of the Museum. There are further accessible toilets on the ground and first floors of West House; these also have baby-changing facilities. There is a Changing Places toilet 5 minutes’ drive away with Harrow Mencap in Pinner Green http://changingplaces.uktoiletmap.org/toilet/view/502. (NB unfortunately this is not open on public holidays, or weekends after 2pm)
The museum galleries and the activity studio have step-free access. The Verden Gallery and Collections Store are accessible via a lift.
We welcome guide, hearing and assistance dogs in all areas of the Museum. Daisy’s Café has a dog bowl.
We provide large-print information in each gallery.
Our Museum Shop offers Heath Robinson books and cards, gifts, including pocket money toys, and original art and craft work from local designer makers.
Daisy’s in the Park café, on the ground floor of West House next door with step-free access, offers drinks, sandwiches and light meals. WiFi is available.
